For families looking for comfort
The staff were amazing! Especially those at the Concierge desk. They really went out of their way to, special shout out to the night shift concierge who kept checking on us when our daughter got sick.
It wasn't astronomical, but still a bit pricey for what we got.

I truly enjoyed being there, the place is modern and good standard.
By and large, it was incredible base for sightseeing in Wellington, had much fun and met consistently courteous staff from a member of a large hotel chain. The rooms were spotless and updated, they come with toiletries.

The gym and pool facilities were great, very clean and the gym staff were friendly and attentive.
I found the administration around my booking very poor. I ended up spending too much of my time reconfirming things I'd already told the staff about my booking and the cost. Generally I found the service of the staff poor given the quality of the hotel - I get much better and responsive service from other quality hotels.

Negative experience below at check in soured the entire experience which followed. Will not be booking again. Very Happy to go back to lower 4 star competitors in central wellington. Absolutely will not recommend.
An appalling and shocking check in. Rooms were not ready at 2pm with 4 tired children in tow. No apology. Made to feel "take it or leave it". Did not want to complain for that reason. No offer to wait in restaurant - just got told to go up the street. No offer to use toilets. Check in receptionist was very arrogant and porter was disingenous. Stood waiting to be acknowledged for 5 minutes. Clearly there was a problem but no polite comment like" sorry for delay we will be with you in a minute". Both rooms were far too small and bathroom tiles needed a jolly good scrub and chrome should have been polished. What a joke - this is not five star. Maybe could pass as an upmarket backpackers - at best!!!! Shame on intercontinental.

The harbour view room which we had was excellent. Reception staff were excellent Conceirge service excellent.
On our first night the 8th of November we had drinks at the bar. The service from the waitress and the bartender was sub-standard.We did not get served after we sat down, I had to go to the bar and ask for service. When the gin & tonic arrived it did not have a slice of lemon in it.When it came back with the lemon, the stalk was on the slice. After we finished the first drink, I again had to go to the bar and request two more drinks. These did not arrive, so we gave up and went out for dinner!

great amenities , but busy check-in process.
The newly refurbished room felt very luxurious with plush carpet and comfortable beds. The views of the city really added to the experience.
The check-in took longer than expected, frustrating after a long journey.

The staff was cute and the
Room was immaculate, fitting perfectly for a family stay. Our only drawback was the lack of variety at breakfast. Still, the overall experience was joyful, especially when the kids found their favorite breakfast items.

Alkways good service, clean rooms and friendly staff. Worth the extra to experience the club room facilities
Probably slightly overpriced, but worth the stay anyway. Would get expensive over a 3-4 day stay.

One concierge by the name of Jeremy stands out for us he bent over backwards to help us and gave us help in finding places and he was very freindly. He made our stay perfect.
Our toilet leaked twice while we where there with sewerage on the floor. The shower sprayed everywhere. The rubbers on the tiolet seat are so old that they have crumbled and broken away. They had old faeces and urine in the rubbers on the toiletseat.
